This blog is a schlog because I schlep words and antiques for a living and is about writing, history, antiques, and the daily life of a discombobulated Yankee turned into an eccentric Southern Belle at an early age in life, has now gracefully aged, and who lives above her antique shop in the tiny National Landmark town of Bethania, North Carolina with her husband, daughters, three cats, and two Yorkie puppies in training.

In the beginning . . .
Because I am also a writer, and every story has a beginning, this is my first post. My web hosting company may have done me a wonderful justice by discontinuing the Zen Builder and replacing it with a new program. But I didn't like how the new program's blog page looked so I am testing an external web page. I may eventually get the hang of blogging and incorporate all my other attempts at blogging into one. So here goes . . . (two days, six aspirins later - it is now working!)
